sorta-kinda fashionista

if you know me, then you usually don't find me doing a fashion post. why not? well, because it takes up alot of my time to take photos of my outfit for the post, and i don't want to figure out where i got all my clothes from. a lot of them are vintage from grandma {thank you grandma!}. today, however, i was fishing through some old photos and came across that outfit i wore at Christmastime. so, why not?
mommy doesn't like shopping. daddy, well, he's a guy, so obviously he'd rather tweet to his sports peers {awkward, i know}. the most i get to shop would be when my grandma is in town. fashion sometimes skips a generation. not to say my mom isn't fashionable. quite the contrary, she's very stylish. but when it comes to voluntarily stepping into forever21 or anthro, grandma is the one.

so one day, on grandma's Christmas trip in 2011, we went off to macy's in an attempt to buy a dress-suit for me. suits are sort-of needed when you're involved in court. we picked out the suit in no time, when this army green dress caught her eye. i'm not much for army green, but i tried it on and fell in love. henceforth, it was my birthday dress. and my Christmas dress. and it's really pretty.

dress: macy's // necklace: gift from aunt mary // shoes {not shown}: dsw // hairclip {not shown}: from a friend

lately, i've been putting a lot more thought into what i wear. and it's loads of fun figuring out what matches this or what doesn't go with those shoes. have you ever done that before? yeah. hence the term: sorta-kinda fashionista, because still, i have a lot of work to do.

for now, xoxoxo.
{pea ess: 100 followers on AOU? oh my goshbubbles this is so exciting! thank you all so much!}
{pea pea ess: no, it's not my camera. it's my uncle & aunt's, and yes, i'm jealous.}

  3. pretty! :D and my grandmother is the same way. my mom will go shopping with me, but i'm always the one to say "let's go shopping." whereas my grandma is the one who's at our house for twenty minutes and then says "okay, sydney, you want to go shopping with me?" and i'm like "yeah!" :D so, i too feel the pain of having the
    voluntary-shopper-syndrome skip a generation...
